林書豪迅速暴紅，也引發他是哪一國人的爭議，林書豪和家人到底算台灣人（Taiwanese）還是中國人（Chinese）？而他的父親林繼明，接受美國之音 Voice of America 專訪時，特別強調，他是第八代的台灣人，林書豪是第九代，當然也是台灣人！

就怕被誤會林書豪是中國人，阿嬤跟林書豪的大伯，接受紐約時報訪問時，也強調他是台灣人，爸爸林繼明接受美國之音專訪，再度澄清，他說他是林家家第八代台灣人，我的兒子林書豪是第九代台灣人，確定林書豪，是台灣人，雖然他從小在美國出生長大，不過也常常回台灣來探親，尤其對台灣的美食小吃，印象很深刻。

林書豪的阿嬤，也說孫子當然是正港的台灣人，談到林書豪的好表現，更是非常高興。台灣有美食，有美景，還有最愛的阿嬤跟親戚，台灣永遠是林書豪，最懷念的家鄉。林書豪阿嬤掛保證:孫子林書豪是正港台灣人。

Grand Mother said "Jeremy Lin is Taiwanese, not Chinese, not Korean. Indeed, he is Taiwanese."

Chinese Media are liars. Jeremy Lin is not Chinese. Jeremy Lin indeed is Taiwanese. Do not call him Chinese. Please respect Jeremy Lin his identity and his family.

按照一般通例，林書豪是台裔美國人，林書豪在美國出生長大的，所以他的國籍是美國籍，他的族裔血統則是台灣裔簡稱台裔，在美國出生的台灣囝仔就是俗稱的台裔美籍或是台裔美國人。

然而情感上，林書豪既是美國人也是台灣人。林書豪在美國出生，接受美國教育，當然是美國人。然而林書豪的台裔血統讓他熱愛台灣這個國家，他視自己為台灣人也是理直氣壯，他的父親林繼明特別強調，務必跟記者把這點講清楚，他們林家全家都是台灣人！

結論是，法理上是林書豪是台裔美國人。情感上，林書豪既是美國人也是台灣人。可以肯定的是，林書豪絕對不是中國人！請不要再叫他是華人或是華裔，請網友尊重林書豪的身份認同跟他們林家人的意見！
